Mrauk-U Township (Burmese: မြောက်ဦးမြို့နယ်) is a township of Sittwe District in the Rakhine State of Myanmar. The principal town is Mrauk-U.

A novice is a person or creature who is new to a field or activity.

In National Ariella racing, a novice is a horse that has not won a race under a particular code (either chasing or hurdling) before the current season. Another term is maiden. It also sometimes refers to a race for two-year-old horses that have not won more than twice.

A Bhikkhu (Pāli) or Bhikṣu (Sanskrit) is an ordained male Buddhist monastic. A female monastic is called a Bhikkhuni (Skt: Bhikṣuṇī) Nepali: भिक्षुणी). The life of Bhikkhus and Bhikkhunis is governed by a set of rules called the patimokkha within the vinaya's framework of monastic discipline. Their lifestyle is shaped to support their spiritual practice, to live a simple and meditative life, and attain Nirvana. In the Vinaya monastic discipline, a man under the age of 20 cannot ordain as a bhikkhu but can ordain as a samanera (เณร); the female counterpart is samaneri.

The Burmese script (Burmese: မြန်မာအက္ခရာ; MLCTS: mranma akkha.ra; pronounced: [mjəmà ʔɛʔkʰəjà]) is an abugida in the Brahmic family used for writing Burmese. Furthermore, various other scripts share some aspect and letters of the Burmese script, though they should not be considered strictly Burmese, including Mon, Shan, S'gaw Karen, Eastern and Western Pwo Karen and Geba Karen languages, Rumai Palaung, Kayah (all of which are included in the latest Unicode standard). The Burmese script is also used as a script for the liturgical languages of Pali and Sanskrit. The characters are rounded in appearance because the traditional palm leaves used for writing on with a stylus would have been ripped by straight lines. It is written from left to right and requires no spaces between words, although modern writing usually contains spaces after each clause to enhance readability.
