A l'occasion de la rétrospective Louise Bourgeois qui se tient au Centre Pompidou, du 5 mars au 2 juin 2008, le musée du Louvre présente l'araignée géante de Louise Bourgeois dans le jardin du Carrousel. Après Saint-Pétersbourg, New York, Londres et Bilbao, cette sculpture monumentale sera présentée au centre de Paris dans le prestigieux domaine du Louvre et des Tuileries.

In honor of the Louise Bourgeois retrospective on view at the Pompidou Center from March 5 to June 2, 2008, the Louvre presents Maman, the largest of this artist’s spider sculptures, in the Carrousel Gardens.

The Tuileries Palace ('tuilerie'=tilery)(French: Palais des Tuileries, IPA: [palɛ de tɥilʁi]) was a royal palace in Paris which stood on the right bank of the River Seine until 1871, when it was destroyed in the upheaval during the suppression of the Paris Commune. It closed off the western end of the Louvre courtyard, which has remained open since the destruction of the palace.

The site is now the location of the Tuileries Garden (French: Jardin des Tuileries).
