Drinking ceremony Karo tribe - Ethiopia

During my stay in Korcho, a famous Karo village on Omo river, the whole village had a drinking ceremony. It is supposed to start at sunset, but at 2pm, they all, men and women, start to drink their local beer in giant calabashes. Once the night came, the chants were coming from all the houses, but it was not a good idea to visit them then...

'Debub Omo (or "South Omo") is a Zone in the Ethiopian Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR). Debub Omo is bordered on the south by Kenya, on the southwest by the Ilemi Triangle, on the west by Bench Maji, on the northwest by Keficho Shekicho, on the north by Semien Omo, on the northeast by the Dirashe and Konso Special Woredas, and on the east by the Oromia Region. The administrative center of Debub Omo is Jinka.
