unexpected expedition

On one of the last days of vacation, on our way back to our apartment from running errands & grocery shopping, the announcement came over the loudspeaker at Saint Lazare that our metro line was closed from Trinité to the end. We hurried out, figured out our next best option, headed to a line that would take us as close as possible. The platform & eventually the trains were jam packed, our groceries were melting, we were tired, and overall hadn't anticipated a schlep home. As we trudged (triumphantly) past what should have been our stop, this was the scene. The two folks at the entrance kept standing there, peering in, not really getting it just wasn't open...
