Wild East 1997 — Fotopedia
1997 I served in a "Standby Squad". In July 1997 after days of terrible rainfall in Poland, Czech and Slovakia, the Oder, the border river to Poland swept over. More than 110 people died in Czech and Poland. The river dykes in poland brokes at several places. In Germany many thousands of soldiers, Firefighter, police-officers and civil employees from whole Germany fought against the flood. With success. The dykes hold. This is a picture and it shows the flood pressing against the dyke. The building on the pichture ist a barn. The photo was shot near a village called Wriezen. My job was patrolling the evacuating villages to protect them for thieves and plundering.

I shot this picture with my old SLR-camera. The Film was a Fujicolor 400.
