Richard_Nixon Had Enemy List Too...

President Richard M. Nixon was a World War II Veteran and served as Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy until the war ended. More than a few of our Presidents were Navy veterans. We know the story about young Jack Kennedy, a Lieutenant Junior Grade, whose PT 109 collided with an enemy vessel; LBJ was also a Navy veteran as was Nixon. President Gerald Ford was a U.S. Navy Lieutenant. President Carter graduated from the Naval Academy. President Bush was a Naval Aviator, a carrier pilot; his son, George W. Bush, Jr. was an Army National Guard Pilot. Who could possibly forget IKE, the Allied Supreme Commander for the D-Day Normandy invasion. President Reagan? He was given a commission in the U.S. Army as Public Relations Officer.
Only two Presidents since FDR were never in the military, President Bill Clinton and President Barak Obama. President Harry Truman was an Army Captain who served in Artillery. Truman was the President who said the " buck stops here," referring to his desk.
