Brienno (Brienn in the local variety of Western Lombard) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 50 km north of Milan and about 10 km northeast of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 445 and an area of 9.1 km².

The Bergamo Alps and some hills cover the territory of the province, and the most important body of water is the glacial Lake Como. Como is also famous because it is the city of Alessandro Volta, inventor of the electric battery in 1800.
