Hilversum

Hilversum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɪlvərsʏm] ( listen)) is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Located in the region called "'t Gooi", it is the largest town in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages. Hilversum is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.

Zonnestraal (estate)

The estate Zonnestraal is a former sanatorium in Hilversum, Netherlands. The building was designed by architect Jan Duiker and is an example of the Nieuwe Bouwen. In 1995, the estate was submitted to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, and it is currently on the tentative list.
