Munich (pron.: /ˈmjuːnɪk/; German: München, pronounced [ˈmʏnçən] ( listen), Bavarian: Minga) is the capital and the largest city of the German state of Bavaria. It is located on the River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps. Munich is the third largest city in Germany, behind Berlin and Hamburg. About 1.42 million people live within the city limits. Munich was the host city of the 1972 Summer Olympics. Its inhabitants are sometimes called Munichers in English.

BMW Headquarters

BMW Headquarters (German: BMW-Vierzylinder "BMW four-cylinder"; also BMW Tower or BMW Hochhaus) is a Munich landmark, which has been serving as world headquarters for the Bavarian automaker BMW for almost 40 years. It was declared a protected historic building in 1999. Extensive refurbishments commenced in 2004 and were completed in 2006.
